An Irish Evening in Kansas

As I drove home from school, I wished for my camera as groves of trees along the Republican River glowed apple-green and lacy against a pearl-gray sky --so bright to be nearly Christmas lights in May.

At home, I decided to put a new photo of the "prairie gate" on this blog, chiefly for Kim to see her lovely wedding meadow, greening and blowing in the soft breezes, as Patrick's and her sixth anniversary approaches. The beauty that wedding brought to the little prairie farm and meadow has only increased over the years. Conor was baptised here, cousins have watched the stars from here, Mother has walked this meadow beside us so often and stopped to stretch out in the tall grass to find cloud pictures high above.

It's spring. Thirteen days to go in the classroom for this school year. What's that lyric from Enya: "Who knows where the time goes...."
